puff piece (noun) : a superficial article, interview or report that is done in a manner to flatter and promote the subject; over exaggerations that are used to spin favor in the subject's way while leaving out anything that would negatively affect the subject

After seeing the interview with the scandalous starlet, I realized that it was a puff piece because it left out all of her latest negative publicity.
