In the long division problem 112 divided by 8, the 112 is written inside the pinculum, the divisor is written left of the pinculum, and the quotient is written above the pinculum. This word was developed by combining the word parenthesis (the left part of the symbol) and vinculum (the long bar at the top of the symbol). —This was not taken from another source., This word was developed in 6th grade math class.
