Englishism : Englishism (noun): A distortion of an Indian name, by Britishers or by English media in India. A distorted pronounciation lead to a different spelling: 'Pune' was distorted to 'Poona', 'Vandre' to 'Bandra', 'BhaykhaLaa' to 'Byculla', 'Kulaba' to 'Colaba', 'ParaL' to 'Parel'. 'Sheev' in Marathi was distorted to 'Sion' (spelling borrowed from Farsi)....
'Poona' is an englishism of 'Pune'.- Usage found in newspapers and magazines. Right now, I do not have the exact source.
