Dr. Feelgood (noun) : A nickname for a medical doctor who specialized in prescribing stimulants for normal fatigue before that form of treatment was frowned upon by the AMA.
Dr. Feelgood, as he was called, the studio-employed doctor on-site at MGM movie studios, prescribed stimulants posing as vitamins for many stars including Judy Garland during MGM’s Glory Days in order to make them stay awake to complete picture after picture at an expeditious pace so the studio could cash in on their success.
