chipwreck (noun) : a soggy piece of a chip that has accidentally broken off into a dip and is usually unattainable except by use of another chip

Mark was trying to eat some chips and salsa, but he created a chipwreck when his chip broke in the salsa, so he got another chip from the bag and fished it out.
