belligery (noun) : (1) Violent combat in one or more battles between two or more nations without a formal declaration of war. (2) Combat for which Congress never declared a war under Section 8 of Article I of the US Constitution. Distinguished from wars that have been so declared.

The American-Vietnamese War was not a true war, but a belligery.

The woman was beligerent and delirious, some might say bellirious.
