Christmess (noun) : the litter—composed primarily of wrappping paper, ribbon, bows, and empty boxes—scattered around the Christmas tree after gifts are opened, traditionally on Christmas morning.

Picking up the Christmess is the anti-climatic nadir on that holiday morning.
